Teradek Cube and Brik encoders provide a powerful, compact wireless solution for local monitoring and proxy recording. Both devices utilize high profile H.264 compression and support resolutions up to 1080p at 5mbps over dual band a/b/g/n WiFi or 10mbps over Ethernet. The Teradek Cube comes in HD-SDI or HDMI varieties, whereas the camera-back Brik offers HD-SDI inputs only. Each encoder has an easy to use OLED display for rapid configuration and a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, which enables users to swap external power sources without powering the unit down.
The Teradek Bolt is a wireless HD-SDI transmitter and receiver that enables sub-2ms delivery of uncompressed HD video at full 1080p60 resolution and 4:2:2 color space.
Local Monitoring on iOS Devices
Watch your live video while you’re on the move. With the Teradek Cube and Brik, directors, clients, and others on set are able to monitor every live shot on their iPad, iPhone, and laptop with a delay as low as 1/3 second. Simply connect your device directly to a Teradek encoder over the 5.8Ghz Master Mode or to a shared access point, launch Teradek’s free TeraCentral application, and select the live feed you wish to view.
If you prefer a more traditional monitoring method, the Teradek Brik can utilize its SDI loop-through for watching the action in real time on your rig or, when paired with a Teradek decoder, any Brik or Cube encoder can stream directly to a field monitor in video village at a 1/4 second delay.
Cube and Brik also support remote monitoring for productions that have multiple sets. For example, a Cube on Set A can transmit over the Internet to a decoder at Set B where the director can view the feed at near real time. This is also a fantastic option for writers and producers to keep an eye on production from their office.
On-Board and Remote Proxy Recording
Not only can you watch the action unfold in real time on your iOS device, Teradek encoders also offer free proxy recording capabilities on both HD-SDI and HDMI models for generating instant replays or dailies. Cube and Brik encoders sense when your camera begins and ends recording and instantly creates an H.264 file with identical timecode, filename, and start/stop times on a computer connected to your local network.* Alternatively, both encoders can save proxy files on their on-board uSD and SD card slots if your set lacks an extra computer hard drive.

Light Iron's Live Play
To view your recorded files, Teradek recommends Light Iron’s Live Play software, which enables script supervisors, directors, cinematographers and other key production personnel to independently comment on and review each take on their iPads.
Case: Turnkey VTR System
The Teradek Case is a rugged turnkey VTR system in a box that enhances the video assist capabilities of Teradek encoders. Case was designed for plug and play convenience and comes with a pre-configured Apple Mac Mini and Airport Extreme Base Station, which are housed in a genuine Pelican case. Each unit ships with an 8 ft light stand that lets you lift the unit to increase wireless coverage up to 1000 ft.
Case: Live Monitoring on Multiple Devices
What makes Case such a great video assist tool is its ability to stream a live Teradek encoder feed to up to 20 iPads simultaneously, which gives you the ability to share each take with clients, production personnel, and other interested parties at very low latency. To view the stream, each device needs to connect to Case’s wireless network and launch Teradek’s free TeraCentral application, which will automatically discover Cube or Brik’s video feed.
In addition to streaming to mobile devices, Case supports up to two encoders and decoders for streaming your content back to field monitors in video village or to any other video display device with an HD-SDI or HDMI input.
Case: Wireless Proxy Recording
Rather than configuring your own file sharing server, Case comes pre-configured to accept proxy recordings over WiFi from Teradek encoders. The best part about this setup is that multiple individuals can review each take on their iPads independently with Light Iron’s Live Play software due to Case’s support of multiple connected clients.
TeraCentral is a free application that enables iPads, iPhones, and other devices to discover, configure, and play video from Teradek encoders. TeraCentral also helps you take advantage of your live video by allowing you to zoom in/out, take snapshots, save custom RTSP URL streams, and auto-play your last viewed feed when you launch the application.
Bolt: Wireless HD-SDI Done Right
The Teradek Bolt is a wireless HD-SDI transmitter and receiver that enables sub-2ms delivery of uncompressed HD video at full 1080p60 resolution and 4:2:2 color space. Bolt has a 3G-SDI video input, a looping 3G-SDI output, and can transmit to multiple receivers simultaneously at up to 300ft away.
