Valkyrie takes the next step in mobile DVRs by introducing High Profile H.264 (L4.1) for the first time on a mobile DVR. This key feature has the biggest impact and differentiates Valkyrie as a leader in mobile recording. High Profile H.264 (L4.1) is an advanced compression algorithm providing a 2:1 reduction in bit rates with equal image quality when compared to MPEG2. All of this means that Valkyrie is capable of streaming 120FPS of real-time full-resolution D1 video providing four channels of 30FPS DVD quality video over a cellular/wireless network with low latency and minimal network bandwidth.
Valkyrie is extremely rugged, and features an aluminum case with a small footprint, no moving parts inside and an embedded operating system designed for mission critical reliability. Valkryie is extremely energy efficient. Valkryie’s hardware compression provides the highest performance at lowest power consumption.

Designed for complete reliability, Valkyrie’s ethos of “no moving parts” is extended into the storage capabilities. By incorporating a Solid State Drive (SSD), Valkyrie greatly reduces the possibility of operational failure. Data loss due to a “hard drive crash” isn’t part of Valkyrie’s vocabulary. SSDs retain memory even during sudden power outages, ensuring data persistence. Seek times compared to conventional electro-mechanical disks are also greatly reduced.
