Network bonding is the combination of wireless, wired, and cellular networks — such as WiFi, BGAN, 3G, 4G, LTE, Ethernet — to obtain a reliable, consistent video uplink that is capable of streaming high quality HD video.
With two network connections, you eliminate a single point of failure for your broadcast, while increasing your total available bandwidth.
Three modems is usually all you need to stream in high definition from most metropolitan areas with good LTE coverage. By utilizing modems from several cellular carriers, you can protect yourself from sudden network outages on one company’s towers.
If any of your modems’ service is spotty, Bond dynamically adapts to rely on your other network connections to keep the stream going. Our proprietary error correction protocol ensures your live stream looks rock solid despite poorly performing cellular networks.
At 5 network connections, depending on your location, you have enough bandwidth to stream reliably in 4K. Some operators choose to add a BGAN connection for extra bandwidth security.

Whether you’re an existing Cube 600 user seeking to upgrade your transmission capabilities or new to the Teradek ecosystem, Bond offers a highly customizable solution that suits workflows large and small.
At the heart of Bond is Cube, a High-Profile H.264 and H.265 encoder that supports bit rates up to 30Mbps and a boot-to-live time of 20 seconds. Cube includes a series of professional features such as adaptive streaming, closed-captioning, and both HDMI and SDI inputs.
The Bond expansion module seamlessly connects to any Cube 600, 700, or 800 series through a pogo pin connector. Once connected, the module offers up to 4 additional modem connections via USB or 4-pin connector. A built-in 5 minute Li-Ion offers continuous power during battery swaps.
Node is a high performance 3G / 4G / LTE modem that provides exceptional connectivity and weather resistance. The modem connects to Bond via your choice of USB or 4-pin connector, with the latter offering superior coupling to the chassis.
Required for Bond, Core is a complete IP video management ecosystem in the cloud. When you stream over bonded network connections, a server running demuxing software is required to turn the data back into a recognizable format. For Teradek, this is a Sputnik server, which is built into the Core platform.
