The Teradek Link and Edge are bonded mobile cellular hotspots developed specifically to give your camera crew absolute mobility when streaming live footage from a fixed location. Both devices act like an access point that receives its bandwidth from a combination of 3G/4G USB modems, WiFi, and Ethernet connections. To transmit over the bonded connection, both devices create a dual band MIMO WiFi connection that camera's equipped with Teradek Cube, Brik, or Slice encoders can stream over. This allows the camera operator to move about on location without concern for cellular dead zones they may walk in and out of. Once the video feed reaches Link or Edge, it is sent to a Sputnik server for recombination and then forwarded onto your destination.
Directly to the Web or Back to the Station
The Teradek Link and Edge can transmit to just about any platform, including MPEG-TS compatible decoders, computers, and any CDN of your choice.
Portable and Long Lasting
Link’s small size and low power consumption allows for easy placement and long run times when paired with a V-Mount plate and battery. This allows you to place the device in a location that receives the best cellular reception for your modems. If you need to swap power sources mid-broadcast, Link’s rechargeable Li-Ion battery lets you exchange external batteries without interrupting your live video feed.
Edge comes in a 1U rack mount chassis with a 110/240V AC power supply and consumes just 3W + 3W per connected modem.
Edge offers dual RP-SMA connectors per SIM slot and 2 additional connectors for the 2.4/5GHz WiFi radios. This feature allows you to connect high gain antennas that will help your modems reach cellular towers further away and will increase the distance of your WiFi range.
Multiple Network Connections
Edge provides 6 built-in mini PCIe radios* that are activated by inserting your choice of SIM cards. Link offers 6 USB ports for use with 3G/4G USB modems, WiFi dongles, or USB to Ethernet adapters. Only Link is capable of bonding WiFi and Ethernet connections.

Adaptive Bit Rate Streaming
Link and Edge feature Teradek's novel Adaptive Bit Rate Streaming (ABRS) technology, which dynamically adjusts the video bit rate and buffer of your stream in real time to adapt to varying network conditions. ABRS ensures that your content is delivered reliably and at the highest quality possible.
Sputnik is Teradek’s software interface between Link/Edge and your streaming destination. Sputnik is designed to run on a Linux computer either in the cloud (using Amazon’s EC2 services) or on a local server with a single, publicly addressable TCP port. Sputnik recombines the various video feeds from Link/Edge into a cohesive stream that can then be sent to an H.264 decoder or played back online.
Base: Turnkey Sputnik Server & Decoder
Base is an integrated link aggregation and H.264 decoding solution for video broadcasts transmitted over the Teradek Link, Edge or Bond. As an alternative to an Amazon EC2 instance or building your own Linux server, Base de-bonds and decodes your video feed from a single rack mount server with an HD-SDI output.
The Teradek Dashboard is a web GUI for monitoring the performance of your Link system. Dashboard displays the bit rate and latency per modem, total data usage, modem status, buffer length, and many other statistics to help you keep track of your streaming performance in real time.
